ALTARA TAX places particular importance on the protection of personal data. This policy sets out the processing carried out in connection with this website.

1. Data controller

2. Data collected

This website contains no forms. No data is collected by the website itself.

Data may be collected in two situations only.

When booking an appointment. Initial consultations are booked through Calendly, embedded on the Contact page. The following are then collected: your name, email address and telephone number, together with any information you choose to provide in answer to the booking questions, namely the details relevant to preparing the meeting, how you heard about the firm and, where applicable, your company’s billing details.

When contacting the firm directly. If you write to the firm’s email address or call one of its numbers, the data you provide is processed in the context of that exchange.

3. Purposes and legal bases

• Appointment booking. Purpose: arranging the initial consultation and preparing its content. Legal basis: performance of a contract or pre-contractual steps.
• Exchanges by email or telephone. Purpose: responding to your enquiry. Legal basis: the firm’s legitimate interest in responding to enquiries addressed to it.
• Playing the introductory video. Purpose: delivering the content. Legal basis: legitimate interest, no tracking cookie being set.

The firm does not use data collected through this website for marketing purposes.

4. Recipients and processors

Data is neither sold nor transferred to third parties. It is accessible only to the service providers necessary for the operation of the website and the arrangement of appointments:

• Webflow, Inc. (United States), website publishing;
• OVH SAS (France), hosting;
• Calendly LLC (United States), appointment booking;
• Microsoft Corporation (United States), the firm’s professional email and calendar.

Transfers outside the European Union are made on the basis of the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses or any other appropriate safeguard provided for by the General Data Protection Regulation.

5. Retention periods

• Appointment enquiries that did not lead to further contact: three years from the last contact.
• Email exchanges that did not lead to a matter being opened: three years from the last contact.
• Client data: retained for the duration of the relationship, then in accordance with the legal and professional obligations applicable to the legal profession, including file retention requirements and accounting obligations.

6. Cookies and trackers

This website sets no analytics cookies, no advertising tags and no behavioural tracking tools.

Two third-party services may set technical cookies:

• Calendly, on the Contact page only, for the booking module to function;
• Vimeo, on the home page, whose player is configured in “do not track” mode, which disables the collection of viewing data.

7. Your rights

In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation and the French Data Protection Act of 6 January 1978, as amended, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object to and port the data concerning you.

These rights may be exercised by email to contact@altara-tax.com or by post to the firm’s registered office. You will receive a response within one month.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the Commission nationale de l’informatique et des libertés, 3 place de Fontenoy, TSA 80715, 75334 Paris Cedex 07, France.

8. Professional secrecy

Information you provide to the firm, including before a matter is opened, is covered by the professional secrecy of the avocat under Law No. 71-1130 of 31 December 1971 and the National Internal Regulations of the French Bar. This protection is in addition to that afforded by the General Data Protection Regulation.

9. Changes

This policy may be amended to reflect changes to the website or to applicable regulations. The date of the last update appears at the top of this document.
